Viva Mexico!

So it is December and I am sitting and reading a book while Darren naps, and I get a text from Chris that says, "Cancun. March. U and me. All expenses paid." My exact response was, "What?"  The ins and outs are complicated, but it comes down to the fact that for the first time since our Honeymoon Chris and I took a vacation!  A much needed and wonderfully WARM vacation.

We spent four days at the Adventura Spa about an hour outside of Cancun and basically this was my view the entire time:
My parents flew in from Colorado to take care of Darren and had a great time.  Mom was exhausted by the time they left but Darren was in heaven.  Particularly about the fact that he had McDonald's for the first time!  He says it is, "Delicious!"
Ahh technology! Dad on the Touch and D on an iPhone

Love the self portraits
Headed home.
A few days after we got home, there was a BIG snow storm in Eugene.  We woke up to over a foot of snow and had no idea it was even coming.  The snow was very wet and heavy and we heard branches breaking all day long.  It wasn't long before we lost power. We made the best of it by having a picnic (McDonald's again!) and camping in the living room in front of the fire.  Thankfully the power came back on in the middle of the night because it was way too cold in the house.  Safe to say it was an odd thing to go from poolside cocktails, to heaps of quilts, gloves, and a fire; but it was also a lovely adventure!
Healthy dinner.
